ICID Congress 24th and ICID International Congress and 73rd IEC Meeting
The NENCID team led by Mr. Churna Bahadur Wali, President of NENCID and Director General of DWRI visited Vizag, India to participate in the 25th ICID international congress and 73rd International Executive Council meeting. The team also included Mr. Sanjeeb Baral, member of NENCID and Deputy Director General of DWRI, Mr. Tikaram Baral, and General Secretary of NENCID and Deputy Director General of DWRI, Dr. Saroj Karki, member of NENCID and Chief, Irrigation Division Office, Taplejung and Ms. Suchana Acharya, Senior Divisional Engineer and Executive Member of NENCID.
The team attended the conference and contributed through the following engagement:
- Mr. Churna Bahadur Wali contributed as the panelist on the side event “New approaches in Agricultural Water Management Capacity building”.
- Mr. Tikaram Baral presented a national paper on the International Symposium “Pathways and Technologies for Modern Irrigation Services” and participated in the workshop and working group meeting organized by the working group WG-CLIMATE
- Ms. Suchana Acharya contributed as a panelist on the side event organized by IWMI on the topic “Realizing Nexus Gains for Sustainable and Resilient Agri-food Systems”.
- Mr. Sanjeeb Baral participated in the Working committee meeting of Asian Regional Working body.
The team attended the conference, participated in the respective working group meetings and joined the IEC meeting as well. The team also visited Murray Irrigation System to understanding the prevailing irrigation system and their operation and management in Australia.
