The Nepal National Committee of Irrigation and Drainage (NENCID), Nepal is contributing to the ICID activities through active participation in the Regional and International Congress, participating in the IEC meeting. The committee is actively involved in the activities of ICID and regularly circulates the information received from ICID to all the members. The member of the working groups are continuously participating in their respective working committee meeting. NENCID is also continuously organizing a talk series every month under different topics inviting experts, academicians, researcher and other prolific personality to share their research output, ideas and experience to the members of NENCID and all other interested.
NENCID is a knowledge-sharing and facilitation platform dedicated to issues that cover the entire spectrum of agricultural water management practices ranging from rainfed agriculture to supplemental irrigation, land drainage, deficit irrigation to full irrigation, etc. In addition, the drainage of agricultural lands forms the core theme of the commission’s activities. Floods and drought; the two extremes of increasingly variable climate as a result of potential climate change, also form the focus of activities.
